Embroidered Mermaids & Summer Layering

Wednesday, August 10, 2016

Hey! Welcome back to my blog - I haven't been posting recently as i've been a busy bee, so here's a little impromptu outfit post from the weekend.

Firstly, if you're rightfully eyeing up the clothes in the background and wondering where these pics were taken, The Vintage Scene - Leicester's best vintage shop - held their 1st birthday party where I was lucky enough to get a few sneaky snaps from for this post. If you're out and about in Leicester, make sure to check them out!

I bought this Zara dress last month in the summer sales for £12.99, and i've been dying to wear it since, but weather and events have meant that i've only just got round to it.

The oversized, cutesy embroidery featuring a mermaid and soda can is soooo fun and summer-y, and would be perfect for holiday dressing.

Even though the weather was pretty good for England on the day, I thought small straps would be pushing it. So, I thought I'd try the age-old trick of layering, which I must admit, I'm usually too conscious to try. However, I took the gamble and think the pairing of this basic black high neck tee with the dress works pretty well!

Let me know what you think - are you a layering fan?

Thanks for reading!
